Working closely with executives and vendors to develop innovative 2D and 3D animation styles for content that ranges from Preschool to Adult. Role includes hands on visual development as well as ideation, creative directing, team building, team leading, and consulting.
• Art Director on Steven Universe, including Steven Universe The Movie, & Steven Universe Future at Cartoon Network.
Hired, trained and supervised art teams, color scripted important sequences, worked closely with production to maintain schedule, worked closely with showrunner and directors, attended breakdowns to make design/color callouts, provided detailed direction for layout teams in Korea (reference lists & leadsheets), and assisted post production process with retake notes and efx keys.
• Color Supervisor on The Venture Bros., Adult Swim.
Worked closely with showrunner to re-conceptualize the painting and color style for season 3+. Established an effective workflow, hired and trained color teams, maintained difficult schedules, roughed and painted key backgrounds, created complex palettes to emphasize story, and supervised color design (character/prop/efx color).
• Awards: Peabody Award (2018) for my work on Steven Universe.
• Nominations: Annie Award (2014) for Outstanding Achievement in Production Design for my work on The Venture Bros.
